Good news for Apple users!

Singtel is finally offering the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) for MacBook Laptop Bundle.

The Laptop Business Bundle provided by Singtel is probably one of the most useful solutions available under the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), especially if you have employees working from home during this period. As we live in a digital world today, a laptop is almost as necessary as a handphone for many people, regardless which industry you are in. Do we need to say more?

As we have many smart Towkays reading our article on Covid-19: Productivity Solutions Grant with Singtel / M1 Business Laptop Bundle and we have received many enquiries regarding this, we have compiled all the questions that our readers have enquired. However, do note that we are only able to answer enquiries regarding Singtel laptop business bundle, as M1 did not reply to us. 

We at Smart Towkay have also applied for the grant and received the laptop some time back, so we are glad to be able to share.

1. What is the model and specifications of the laptop?

The current laptop model available is *Lenovo ThinkPad E14.

Due to lack of guaranteed supply, the laptop vendor is not able to guarantee the brand of the laptop. The current model is subject to stock availability, and they reserve the right to offer an alternative model with comparable specifications.

*Do note that brand and model are subjected to change without prior notice, but will meet the minimum requirements by IMDA. Allocation is based on first-come-first serve basis without advance pre-booking nor selection of brand and/or model.

2. How much does it cost?

Please note that the Laptop bundle must be purchased together with Microsoft Collaboration tools.

For the current model, laptop price is S$1,500 excluding GST with a Microsoft 365 Business Standard Basic Pack at S$188 excluding GST. Total amount S$1,678 + GST = S$1,795.46.

Based on the claimable amount stated on the Letter of Offer, it is S$1,342.40 per laptop. Hence net amount payable after the claim is S$453.06 per laptop.

Do note that full payment must be made first before claiming the PSG.

PSG claim amount is based on laptop’s price capped at S$1,500 per laptop (maximum 3 laptops), and S$13,000 for selected Microsoft Office plans.

GST is also not claimable.

3. How do I know if I am eligible to apply for PSG?

Your company must be registered and operating in Singapore, with a minimum of 30% local shareholding.

Purchase of IT solutions and laptops must be used in Singapore.

4. How can I apply?

You can fill in the Interest Form here, and we will send it to the dedicated representative to provide you with a quotation and the required application forms. Send back after completing the forms to secure the booking of the laptop(s).

You will then need to log in to the Business Grant Portal (BGP) with your Corp Pass, and submit the quotation slip to apply for PSG. Detailed instructions on how to apply via the BGP can be found here: https://www.businessgrants.gov.sg/how_it_works

You can keep track of your application on the BGP. Approval takes around 7 - 10 days. Thereafter, submit the Letter of Offer together with completed application forms back to your dedicated representative, who will proceed with your application. Delivery of laptop(s) will be advised by vendor.

After making payment and upon receiving your laptop, you are required to submit the claims via BGP too. 

5. Can I buy a laptop first without PSG approval and apply for the grant later?

No, companies need to provide the PSG approval letter together with ACRA before your order can be processed.

6. Can I choose a different laptop model?

No, you are not allowed to choose the laptop model.

7. Can I get a MacBook / iPad / Microsoft Surface?

8. How many laptops can I purchase?

Each company can only purchase up to 3 laptops.

9. If I purchase 3 laptops from Singtel, can I still purchase another 3 laptops from M1?

Unfortunately, no. PSG limits 3 laptops per company, and you are required to get approval for the grant first before proceeding with the purchase.

10. How long does it take to make the claim?

After submitting your details here, a dedicated representative will get back to you within 5 working days, and provide you with the necessary forms.

Submission and approval for PSG on the Business Grant Portal takes about 7 - 10 days. Next, ensure that you have made full payment. Delivery of laptop(s) will be advised by vendor. Submit receipts and payment proof via the portal, and ensure that you have applied for Giro arrangement with Enterprise Singapore. Claims will take another 1 - 2 months to be processed.
